Iron Man is the alternative identity of Tony Stark, billionaire inventor, hero, and Avenger. Stark, having suffered a severe chest injury during a kidnapping , created a powered suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity. He later decided to use the ever more advanced versions of the suit to serve the public, at first on his own, but afterward in association with the organization of superheroes known as the Avengers.

When Fuse attacked, Iron Man was in the Avengers Mansion. He gives the mission "Rich Boys Can Fight." In this mission, players face Justin Hammer and stop him from helping Fuse to build a Hammerbomb, a bomb capable of destroying over ten thousand square miles of land. Players must also face Fusion Iron Man in order to get the Iron Man Nano.
Iron Man has a rivalry with Tails, and seriously dislikes Omega-Xis for some reason.
