In Steven Universe, the Gems have the ability to fuse with one another (this is usually done with two individuals but it is possible to fuse more) and create Gem Fusions, powerful Gems that are a combination of each of the Gems fused within it. Gems cannot fuse with other species, though Steven (being half human) has demonstrated the ability to fuse with both Gems and humans alike.
